The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced in late June that its Care Compare website www.medicare.gov/care-compare would now post affiliated entity name for each licensed nursing facility.  This data could be very helpful in determining the quality of care offered and provided by larger and for-profit chains.

Currently, there are glitches in the system with affiliate ID numbers not matching the entity.  The data is not user friendly, making it difficult at best for most consumers to review and make sense of.

The National Consumer Voice is doing more testing of the new data and plans to report their findings to CMS.  KABC will keep you updated on when this information is correct and available.
